The NET

The Greek NET of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities was created to represent nationwide all the bodies that care for and provide services for the physical and mental health and lifelong education of children, adolescents, and adults with disabilities.

The NET is a Non-Profit organization and is the collective umbrella organization that had been missing. The NET will henceforth represent its members as an interlocutor in any consultation with government agencies, organizations for people with disabilities and any other social sector that can assist the NET in its actions.

The NET is a member and has the support of the European organization of EASPD (European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities), which has over 20,000 members across Europe.

Our Vision

The long-term support of people with disabilities by providers of specialized services, aiming to achieve optimal results, throughout their life, educational, professional, financial, personal, welfare & social.

Our mission

The continuous research & revision, of past and new data at scientific and institutional level, efficient approaches, applied practices and innovations, aiming at the creation of integrated, substantiated proposals to the institutional state for the design, organization and implementation of specialized services for persons with the disabilities, with their participation.

Our Aims

Adhering to the principles and content of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and being in operational connection with the EASPD (European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities), the main objectives of the Network are:

  1. The representation and support of its member bodies before the Authorities and the competent bodies, the coordination, and the support of their action.
  2. The promotion of equal opportunities and rights, prevention, rehabilitation, education, social inclusion, and promotion in the labour market of persons with disabilities.
  3. Contributing to the development of a framework for dialogue and exchange of views on scientific approaches, good practices, the formulation of quality standards and evaluation criteria for services provided to people with disabilities.
  4. The promotion of scientific research and study, the development of research on issues related to diagnosis, intervention and treatment, lifelong learning, training, rehabilitation, social inclusion and improving the quality of services provided to people with disabilities.
  5. The promotion through the evaluation and / or certification of the quality upgrade of the existing services, the contribution to the organization and operation of the care units, actions and deinstitutionalization programs and the creation of new housing units, social care, education, and employment services in the community.
  6. The promotion, at national and European level, of the development and implementation of educational programs and activities for the improvement of the training and education of professionals who provide services to people with disabilities.
  7. Informing and raising awareness about the rights of people with disabilities.
  8. The development of volunteerism and social solidarity for people with disabilities.

Areas of Work

The NET, through its members, is active in a wide range of areas of work in the field of disability, following the principles of inclusion, parity, and accessibility. The NET’s areas of work abide to the scope of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
